Adam suffered a modestly successful high school career and then for lack of better ideas, pursued Environmental Engineering to save the world. Like everyone else. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioresource Engineering, a second Bachelor of Science degree in BioEnvironmental Engineering, and a Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, and is now a licensed Professional Engineer in twelve states. He's Vice-President of an almost-national water infrastructure company, owns a solar power business and several rental properties. These distractions help soothe the pain of crushed hopes to quarterback the Pittsburgh Steelers to another Super Bowl.
Slightly less glorious gigs have included drug store clerk, highway-flagboy-for-County-Fair-parking-lot, hay baler, milk lab technician, co-founder of A&R Driveway Sealing, math tutor, PCB tester for high voltage power supplies, Township Environmental Commission member, kids’ soccer coach, amateur numismatist, licensed real estate agent, and oft-rejected aspiring author. Adam also deploys strictly practical home improvements including a two-hundred-foot zip-line, an indoor climbing wall, and a hammock anchored four stories off the ground.
Away from home, Adam is a moderately accomplished canyoneer, and mountaineer with unguided ascents of Mount Hood, Mount Rainer, Mount Elbrus, Gannett Peak, Denali, Orizaba, Granite Peak, and more. Adam has two adult daughters with his wife of 25+ years, who has made much of the above possible and tolerated the rest. At home, they tend a small greenhouse, a vegetable garden, a berry patch, a wannabe orchard, and a dozen chickens.
