Ed is a first generation Ecuadorian-American who spoke Spanish as his first language. He is the middle of 3 boys, who were raised by a single-mother after their father passed away. Ed earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Rutgers University, and continued his education at Temple University where he completed a Master’s degree and Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He currently works as a physical therapist, and as an adjunct professor at a local college teaching Anatomy & Physiology. Ed has received Board-Certification as a Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He is also an American Physical Therapy Association Credentialed Clinical Instructor.
In addition, Ed has earned his certification as an athletic trainer by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. Ed has been married for 25 years, and has 2 children. Ed is a soccer fan, and he enjoys rooting for the US national teams. He is a member of the Star Wars X-Wing Community at a local gaming store. When he is not teaching, Ed currently volunteers at an after-school tutoring program and a preschool reading program for economically disadvantaged kids. In his free time Ed likes to exercise (just about anything outdoors) and play games (board games, strategy games, miniatures, card games, etc.).
My Hero: my mother, who always found a way to provide for her family no matter what she had to sacrifice. Thank you mom for being the living example of how I should live my life through faith and service to others.
